Caguas, Puerto Rico (July 17, 2025) – There’s no better way to live than doing what you love, and singer Chucho Avellanet can attest to that as he approaches his 84th birthday on August 13.

Of those years, he has dedicated more than 60 to his vocation in popular music, especially romantic songs, which will be part of the repertoire he presents on Sunday, August 17, at 4:00 p.m., at Moneró Café Teatro & Bar in Bellas Artes de Caguas. This will be the second performance of this night-club-style show. The first performance will take place on Sunday, August 3, at the same time and venue. Tickets for both shows are available on Ticketera.

“I’m very proud to have reached this age. It hasn’t felt like it. I always say I’m the oldest, but not the most elderly,” joked Avellanet, for whom retirement from the stage is not an option.

“I’ve never thought about retiring; there’s no reason to, because my voice is still here, and I want to keep going. I love what I do,” the singer emphasized.

The night-club concept is very familiar to Chucho Avellanet, as his earliest performances were in this style alongside the musical legend Myrta Silva (1927–1987).

Now, he returns to that format for this new show, promising a nostalgic journey through the musical hits that this distinguished Mayagüez native has made his own, from his days with the old group Nueva Ola to the present.

“I performed part of this show at Tropicoro, and it was very well received. I want to repeat it because I enjoyed it so much,” the artist shared.

The intimacy of a nightclub allows for audience interaction that rarely occurs in large concert halls, adding an extra appeal to this gathering of romance, humor, and great music.

“It’s much more enjoyable because you have the audience close, and you can interact more with them. There’s more warmth from the crowd. In a theater, people are far away. I like the nightclub, first because I started there. I began at Tropicoro with Myrta Silva, as that’s how shows were during the Golden Age,” the artist recalled.

“Dispuesto a todo” will be directed by Maestro Carlos Roig.
